Art for 2025 Wildfire Relief in Southern California
THE CAUSE
Seeing my homeland’s hills engulfed in flame this January has awakened the question, “How can I use my art to help my fellow Californians?”
Wildfire Rebirth is my answer. I created this piece to raise awareness of and funds for fire relief efforts in Los Angeles County.

World Central Kitchen, an organization providing nourishing meals to first responders and families from the impacted areas. Learn more.

THE PIECE
Framed in California’s silhouette, a being emerges from flames. The inferno encasing its body rages, yet the flowers that make up its head and in its hands remain unscathed. There is growth and life, despite the destruction.
Wildfire Rebirth is both an expression of grief and optimism. The fiery elements and distressed textures of the piece highlight the significant loss that’s plaguing thousands of Californians at this time, while the flowers represent how, from the ashes, arise opportunities for rebuilding, both outside and within.
My hope is that Wildfire Rebirth will welcome both sentiments for those afflicted and those donating. May mourning Californians and their loved ones find space and support for their pain; may their tears become nourishment for the soil of the next chapter of their lives. May those offering financial assistance feel more connected to those they are helping.
